Hello, one and all! The heat is over, but the mosquitoes in the country are
feasting….ON ME!!!. I’m tempted to take a pic of my legs, but since it’s a wee bit
on the side of, “Girl, put some pants on, that’s GROSS!” I will decline.
A few evenings ago, I was invited to do a local reading at The Homer Watson
House in Kitchener, a marvelous old mansionette. Homer Watson lived and worked
there. He was a very important painter, since he was the first Canadian artist to
break with copying the European style and introduce the Canadian landscape to the world.

The crowd was small, but their love of literature was large. There was me amid the attentive readers swinging in their hammocks. Do you think they had wine?

This was the first time I’ve ever performed outside, and I loved it. Reading, slapping mosquitoes, reading, more slapping. But bugs be damned, I had an incredible time. A big shout-out to Eric Almberg, the organizer of the event.

Thank you, Eric, and thanks to the rest of the readers who hung around and listened to me spin my yarn while the twilight set. Lovely
